Count it

Calculate how much you could save. Look at your current spending habits. Is there something you buy regularly that you could cut from your budget to save that money instead? If so, how much can you save and how long until you will reach your goal? 
Example: If you cut back on buying chicken & chips (£1.50) on the way home twice a week for 3 months (average of 4 weeks in a month), you would save £36.00!
