Brands

Many people like to buy designer or branded items because they believe there is a difference in the quality of the item. The quality of the materials, the ingredients or the manufacturing process may be different from brand to brand. Certain designers or brands are known for different things.

The taste of KFC is unique to the chain, FedEx can deliver almost anywhere in the world and Nike’s Vaporfly shoes have helped a number of people break world records in long distance running. These shoes typically retail for around £240 which, for many, is a lot of money, but if you are a keen runner and believe they can provide the best quality, it might seem like a good investment.

It is not always true that the more expensive something is, the better the quality of the product. So why spend more on less? It’s simply about the link between recognition and trust. The more we recognise an item or brand, the more we trust it.
