Check to see how much money you have saved already, dust off the savings tin or check your bank account. Can you get a banking app on your phone to check more regularly or do you need to set up a bank account? You could do research into opening one.

Draw It

Draw a picture of something that you would like to save for and put it on your desk, in your wallet, pin board or somewhere else where you’ll see it regularly. If you don’t want to draw it, why not create a collage or print a picture of your goal.

Calculate It

Calculate how much you could save. Look at your current spending habits. Is there something you buy regularly that you could cut from your budget to save that money instead? If so, how much can you save and how long will it take to reach your goal?
Example: If you cut back on buying chicken and chips (£1.50) on the way home twice a week for 3 months (average of 4 weeks in a month), you would save £36.00!
